The Railway Security Guard is a uniformed and armed formation operating in the railway area, on trains and other railway vehicles, operating on the principles set out in the Act of March 28, 2003 on railway transport (Journal of Laws 2003, No. 86, item 789, as amended). ).
The Railway Security Guard is a specialized unit responsible for protecting human life, health and property, as well as monitoring compliance with order regulations in the railway area, on trains and other railway vehicles.
The structure of the formation consists of 16 Regional Headquarters of the Railway Security Guard located within the administrative borders of voivodeships and 78 Railway Security Guard posts located throughout the country.
The Railway Security Guard is a modern, professionally trained, well-equipped formation that invests in the development of IT systems, specialized vehicles, top-class weapons and the latest generation equipment supporting officers in performing interesting daily official tasks.
The formation closely cooperates with other uniformed services both in Poland and abroad. He is also a permanent member of the international organization RAILPOL.

Recruitment for service
A Railway Security Guard officer may be a person who:
- Has Polish citizenship.
- Has at least secondary education.
- Has a regulated relationship with military service.
- Has an impeccable reputation.
- Has the physical and mental capacity to serve in armed formations specified in the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of October 6, 2004 on the detailed conditions to be met by railway security officers, the principles of assessing physical and mental capacity for service and the procedure and units of authorized units to rule on this capacity (Journal of Laws 2004, No. 232, item 2332, as amended).
- Has not been punished for intentional crimes.
- She is 21 years old.
