VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER FOR RAILWAY SECURITY GUARDS AND BREEDING AND TRAINING SERVICE DOGS IN ZBASZYN
The Railway Security Guard Training Center was established in the spring of 1945. Initially, it was located in Poznan, where a dog school was organized for the needs of the then formation. After just a few months, the facility was moved to Zbaszyn, where it is located to this day. The training center was located in the former potato flour factory, built in 1889 by the owner of the estate, Erich Tiedemann.
At the end of the 1940s, the existing dog school expanded the scope of its activities by launching training for Railway Security Guard officers for the following positions: SOK guard, SOK leader and SOK assistant professor. It also changed its name to the Vocational Training Center of the Railway Security Guard and the Breeding and Training of Service Dogs in Zbaszyn.
During its existence, the training center dealt not only with training officers but also with breeding and training dogs. He can boast of many achievements in this field. Bred and trained dogs, performing difficult service in the Railway Security Guard, contributed to the detection of many crimes in railway areas.
In recent years, the facility has developed dynamically. The center has undergone a profound evolution: its organizational structure has changed and its basic training profile has been developed. The transformation process is an expression of the adaptation of the center’s training activities to the changing needs and preferences of the modern Railway Security Guard.
The teaching base is systematically expanded, enriched and modernized. It consists of lecture rooms, a computer room, a gymnasium, an outdoor gym, sports fields and elements of railway infrastructure used to conduct practical classes.
Recently, to meet the needs of students, a modular tactical shooting range was built at the center. It is one of the most modern facilities in the country intended for firearms training. The shooting range is equipped with modern solutions such as a granulated bullet trap, target guns with an advanced control system, a tactical lighting and sound system, monitoring and an air conditioning and air filtration system.
The facility also has special infrastructure for service dogs, enabling specialized courses and training for several dogs at the same time.
The center is equipped with accommodation facilities as well as its own canteen.
