At the threshold of its second century of existence, the Railway Protection Guard faced new challenges. The formation faced an important test. When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out at the beginning of 2020, officers, regardless of their own safety, immediately took action to ensure the safety of travelers and limit the spread of the coronavirus. They also passed the civic maturity exam with flying colors, supporting the Army, the Border Guard and other services during large-scale operations triggered by the migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border. They were equally committed and fully committed to ensuring the safety of Ukrainian citizens who were traveling en masse by rail after the outbreak of the war caused by Russia's aggression on the territory of Ukraine.
